Meet Laura Stamm, Folds of Honor recipient and daughter of Sergeant Terri Stamm. Laura pursued a degree in Art History at the University of Minnesota and graduated in the spring of 2018. Laura shared her appreciation stating, “Folds of Honor means the world to me for providing me with the financial means to pursue my education. It has showed me that my country truly cares about my education. Above all it shows that the country still cares for my mother and her family, even after her service.”
Laura’s mother has always been a key part in instilling Laura with drive and perseverance, no matter the obstacle. “My mother has always been my hero and my rock. She taught me that I could always do anything and that I am strong enough to pursue my dreams.”
This summer, Laura Stamm is participating in “WorkArt Kunstverein Internship Program” through the University of Minnesota in Wurzburg, Germany on the Arte Noah, a floating contemporary art museum. She assists the director and curator with managing new and existing exhibits, assisting with gallery operations and administration, as well as conducting tours for visitors and guests of the museum.
“I am truly appreciative of this opportunity to apply my degree plan to my work here at Arte Noah, which was made possible through the Folds of Honor scholarship program.”
