This is where you will stay connected with all things Folds of Honor, such as impactful partnerships, upcoming events, store promotions and most importantly, the stories of the families you stand with.

| FAMILIES OF FOLDS |
When Lieutenant Commander (LCDR) Michael J. Phipps life was cut tragically short on October 16, 2004 our country lost a true hero.

LCDR Phipp’s was one of the Navy’s finest spinal surgeons, treating wounded Marines at home and abroad during their time of greatest need. But most importantly Michael Phipps was a husband and a father.

Kara Phipps was 7 years old when her and her sister Meghan said goodbye to their father for the last time, but he is not forgotten, and his daughters have honored him through the life they have led every day since his passing.

Kara and Meghan graduated from Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart (Class of 2016 and 2018). Kara is currently attending High Point University, in North Carolina with a passion to become a Special Education Teacher.

Both girls participated in and volunteered for multiple organizations that serve Gold Star families impacting countless children who gave more than we could ever repay for our freedoms and we know that LCDR Phipps would be so proud of the way they are carrying his legacy.

Thank you Kara and Meghan for your sacrifice, we are proud to support your dreams.
| CHAPTER HIGHLIGHT |
Arizona Chapter

Since 2016, the Folds of Honor Arizona Chapter has hit the ground running raising a total of $680,000 to date. They had an incredible year last year and look forward to what’s in store for 2019.

In 2018, the chapter raised nearly half a million dollars (including $200,000 raised in one day by the Arizona Diamondbacks, Budweiser, Hensley Beverage Company and Riot Hospitality). Already in 2019, they have had two-time CMA/ACM/Grammy Song of the Year nominee and one of our most dedicated supporters, country music star Lee Brice, perform on a custom Folds of Honor guitar commissioned by Fender Guitars presented to him at Fender headquarters on January 31st. Lee then rocked the show on his new Folds of Honor guitar in front of thousands of fans at the historic Bird Nest at the Waste Management Open (won by long time Folds of Honor friend and supporter Ricki Fowler, way to go Ricki!)

Coming up, the chapter has their 10th annual Wingman Open on May 3rd at the Westin Kierland Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. We can’t wait to see you there! Please contact Folds of Honor Arizona Development Officer, Rachael Chapman for more information at Rchapman@foldsofhonor.org.

You can also visit the Arizona Chapter website for more information.

Scott Bailey

Scott Bailey and his team at The Governors Club in Brentwood, Tennessee are proud to be making a difference in the lives of our military families through the game of golf. Since 2010, Scott’s team has raised nearly $75,000 for these deserving families growing from a Patriot Golf Day event that brought in a few hundred dollars in its first year to a $10,000 a year event.

They’ve tried several fundraising techniques over the years, and Scott and his team have been able to identify three ways that raise the most money. First, they offer tee sponsorship opportunities for their members; in exchange for a Folds of Honor donation. Second, they incorporated local Active Military and Guardsmen in a one-day “fund the mission” event. Lastly, they ask for items to be donated for a silent auction they host in the clubhouse each year.

“Our Patriot Golf Day events would not be possible without the dedication and support of our membership and staff. The members have fully supported our efforts to make a difference, and the staff takes time out of their busy schedules to help facilitate our efforts. We look forward to raising more money and awareness for Folds of Honor in the future.”
