In Memory of Bruce Wayne Weatherford

Bruce Wayne Weatherford, 86, passed out of this life on November 11, 2021. He was born in Athens, Texas on October 19, 1935, to Georgia Gartman and Clarence Ezekiel Weatherford.
Bruce graduated from Athens High School in 1954, and spent 14 years in the U.S. Navy, as an aviation tech/instructor. After leaving the Navy, he continued to work in the aviation industry. He was proud of his years in the early 1970s serving as Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 7 in Grapevine, Texas, where he made several life-long friends.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Delton and Weldon, and one sister, Christine; and by his wife, Diane.
He is survived by his sister, Delores Boyd and husband Jerry of Athens; children: Nancy Eddy of Athens, David Weatherford and wife Lisa of Athens, Mark Thompson and wife Lisa of Arlington, and Ryan Weatherford and wife Niki of Midlothian; grandchildren: Stacy Eddy, Steven Eddy and wife Sharla, Angela Weatherford, Jeff Weatherford and wife Holly, Tyler Thompson, Sully Thompson, Blake McKinney, Kali Weatherford, and Cole Webster; four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and his sweetheart Ginny Burns.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Weatherford, Blake McKinney, Sully Thompson, Tyler Thompson, Steven Eddy, Dan Boyd, and Dewayne Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be Cole Webster, Jerry Boyd, and members of Boy Scouts Troop 7.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday November 29, 2021, at Jaynes Memorial Chapel in Duncanville. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday. Burial will follow the service at the DFW National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Folds of Honor.
