Greetings to all of you from Grand Haven, MI, the birthplace of Folds of Honor! I am again reaching out to you today to ask for your support for a cause that is both near and dear to my heart.
As many of you know, I have involved with Folds of Honor, a wonderful 501 C-3 that raises money for scholarships for the daughters and sons of our servicemen who have either died or been disabled in battle. FOH is a platinum-rated organization that last year earmarked 89 cents out of every dollar raised to scholarships, providing financial support to over 4,500 offspring of soldiers in all 50 states. It's easy to see my fondness for Folds of Honor, because it checks all the things I hold near and dear--God, our country, our military, children and education. This year, I have expanded my connection with Folds by working as a Wingman at our new Jack Nicklaus designed course here in Grand Haven. American Dunes has opened to rave reviews from all who have played it, both for the beauty of the golf course and its patriotic theme. All of the profit from American Dunes will go directly to Folds to allow it to increase our ability to grow the scholarship fund. To learn more, go to Americandunesgolfclub.com.
Many of you were gracious enough to help support me last year as we raised $3,000 for Folds through my “labored work” of playing 180 holes of golf during the month of September. Even though I am working almost full time at American Dunes, I am going to try to play 180 holes this September with the hope of raising at least $3,000 again this year. My request of you can be as easy as a straight donation, or a pledge per hole. I’ll also make this offer--if you want to play a round with me this month, I'll play for your round if you then donate the cost of the round to Folds! However you decide to give, know that your donation to Folds of Honor is tax-deductible and will be doing a world of good for the daughters and sons of our servicemen who have given us to ability to live in freedom.
To have fun with this, I'll be posting on Facebook and Instagram after every round played, so that you can follow along as to how it's going and measure our progress.
And on behalf of Folds of Honor and from the bottom of my heart, thank you, thank you, thank you!
Mark
